ACELG will offer the International Association of Public Participation (IAP2 ) 'Foundations in Public Participation' program in early 2015. This internationally recognised qualification applies the IAP2 engagement spectrum which is regarded as the gold standard in public participation planning, and that has been integrated into the community engagement strategies of many councils. The program is delivered in two parts, 'Planning for Effective Participation' and 'Techniques for Effective Public Participation'.

ACELG Associate and IAP2 trainer Margie Harvie will conduct the program. Director of ACELG Roberta Ryan, a leading public participation practitioner and researcher with over 30 years' experience, and Deputy Director of ACELG Melissa Gibbs, experienced in capacity building in rural-remote communities, regional collaboration and facilitation, will participate. The program will run at ACELG-UTS in February and March 2015.
