A lot has changed in the local government sector since the association was formed in 1936 yet the organisation emphasises its ongoing commitment to promoting professional development, best practice, and delivering partnership opportunities for Australian councils and their staff. The Association says that its change of name and logo will better reflect what the organisation stands for and, with the support of its Federation partners, the value LG Professionals Australia will continue to provide as the peak voice for local government professionals.
