Australian and New Zealand School of Government

Australian and New Zealand School of Government

The Australia and New Zealand School of Government (ANZSOG) is one of the few educational institutions in the world that can claim to be unique. ANZSOG is dedicated to promoting outstanding public sector leadership and policy that really works for the benefit of the public.

ANZSOG was established as a not-for-profit company in 2002 with the vision of creating a world-leading educational institution that teaches strategic management and high-level policy to public sector leaders.

Formed by a consortium of governments, universities and business schools from Australia and New Zealand, the School is also home to a substantial research program that aims to deepen government, community and academic understanding of public administration, policy and management.

The initial vision for the School is now a reality and ANZSOG is developing a broader role as a trusted facilitator that helps governments find solutions to real-world public issues.

Government partners

ANZSOG has nine government partners that select their most promising public servants to participate in the School’s education programs.

University and business school partners

There are 15 university and business school members that contribute to ANZSOG’s programs. Through our partnership with these educational institutions, we are able to attract the best teachers and researchers in Australasia.

What We Do

ANZSOG has three core activities:

  • Executive education courses
  • A case study program
  • A research program

All of these programs aim to deepen our knowledge and understanding of government and to disseminate that understanding to the wider community – for the benefit of the whole society.
